Our story
Once the White Hart.
Now unmistakably The Star.
A historic Narberth inn, brought back to life as a warm, independent pub with food, rooms and plenty of personality.
Meet Donna & Mike
The people behind The Star
Donna & Mike.
Donna and Mike are the people behind The Star. Together they have created an independent pub that feels warm, generous and genuinely part of Narberth.
Donna’s eye for colour and detail gives the place its unmistakable character; the welcome is something they have built together. The result feels collected and lived in—not designed by committee.
Before The Star
The White Hart.
The building was once known as the White Hart, an old coaching inn at the bottom of St James Street. Its stable yard was approached by way of White Hart Lane—a name that still carries the earlier inn into the town’s present-day map.
Facing Market Square, it formed part of a long tradition of inns, shops and meeting places at the centre of Narberth life.
From the archive
Then, now & always.
The White Hart.
An inn, a landmark and a meeting place in the working life of Market Square.
The Star.
An independent pub with real ales, good wines, simple food and cosy rooms upstairs.
A warm welcome.
The name has changed; good company under one roof, in the middle of Narberth, remains.
The Star today
Their pub, in full colour.
Independent, friendly and pleasingly individual, The Star reflects Donna’s eye for colour and the warm, individual pub Donna and Mike have created together. It is a real pub rather than a themed version of one.
The rooms, the food, the music nights and the changing bar all belong to the same idea: keep it warm, generous and full of life.
